Blossom Behavioral Health of Michigan is an individual private practice, founded by owner Angela Niyonsenga, LMSW on the philosophy that everyone has the ability to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life. This philosophy is rooted in her belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance. In order for therapy to be effective, a person must work with a clinician who has the skill and experience to address their unique needs. As an individual private practice, every client works directly with the clinic owner, Angela, from their first phone call until their last appointment.
Therapy is based on a client-centered approach, working collaboratively with each client to identify their goals and develop a customized treatment plan. A strong emphasis is placed on building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. Therapeutic interventions are rooted in evidence-based practices to help clients achieve optimal mental health.
All clients receive high-quality therapy services to meet their unique needs, which may include individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy. Specialized services are available for children and adolescents, as well as helping professionals. Although therapy is available to address a wide range of issues, Angela has clinical expertise in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression across the lifespan through use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and Animal-Assisted Therapy.
Training is available on topics related to mental health for both mental health professionals and the general public. Training for mental health professionals focuses on strengthening and expanding clinical skills. Training for the general public focuses on strategies for improving one own's mental wellness, how to support someone struggling with mental health challenges are more.
Quality clinical supervision is critical for therapists throughout their career. Clients are best served when their therapist receives thoughtful, individualized feedback that support professional growth. Clinical supervision is available to Clinical Social Workers holding either a limited or full license in the state of Michigan.
